SecureCloud had built an automated vulnerability scanner that enterprise security teams genuinely wanted — the backend could enumerate an attack surface and score findings with the best tools on the market. The problem was the window it was seen through: a bootstrap-era MVP frontend that made a serious product look like a weekend project. In demo calls, the engineering was world-class for twenty minutes of setup, then the screen shared and the room's confidence visibly dropped. Security buyers buy confidence; the interface was contradicting the product.
The brief was to rebuild the entire client-facing frontend as a React single-page application: a real-time CVSS dashboard visualising findings as scans stream in, a white-label PDF report generator for consultants reselling under their own brand, and full multi-tenancy with role-based views so a CISO, an analyst and an external client each see an interface shaped for them. The non-negotiable was performance — a dashboard that freezes with 10,000 findings is a demo killer, so we set a hard budget and held it: 97 on Lighthouse, interactions under 100ms.
A React + D3.js command centre: live findings streaming in over websockets, CVSS distribution charts, severity trend lines and asset heatmaps — all rendering 10,000 findings without dropping a frame.
Consultants generate client-branded, executive-ready vulnerability reports from the dashboard — turning the platform from a tool into a product they can resell.
Isolated tenant workspaces with role-based interfaces: the CISO gets trend and risk posture, the analyst gets findings and workflow, the external client gets a clean read-only view.
Virtualised tables, memoised chart layers, aggressive code-splitting and a strict performance budget — a 97 Lighthouse score on a data-dense security dashboard, not a marketing page.
Demo-to-trial conversion after the new frontend shipped — the same product, finally looking like itself in the room where decisions happen.
Lighthouse performance score on the production dashboard, sustained under real tenant data volumes.
Enterprise deals where the buyer specifically cited the dashboard and reporting experience as a deciding factor against incumbent tools.

“Prospects used to forgive the interface because the scanner was good. Now the interface wins deals on its own. That is a strange and wonderful problem to have.”
